WHEN YOU GIVE FOR LOVE AND YOU THINK IT’S WASTED

He was a young man who was still struggling to make earns meet; he had hope of finding love and one day he came across this teenage girl who was 18 and fell in love with her. The teenage girls father was very poor and could not afford to pay her daughters WAEC examination fee of #15,000. He took it as a burden to see her take the examination. He had gone to the construction site to look for manual jobs to raise the money but the job wasn’t going to be enough, he also engaged in street hawking and all kinds of meaner jobs just to raise the money but time was ticking out and the closing date for the registration was just two days away.

He had just gotten only #8000 and he still needs #7000 in two days; he took out his phone, his good shoes and his television and sold them to raise the money. He did get #15,000 and had an extra of #7000. He paid her WAEC and gave her the extra for her up keep throughout the examination period. He had not gone to school at all but he had hope that he would go one day but his joy would be to see her graduate from the university.

Few months down the line her result was out, and she did marvellously well. He had been thinking about how to raise the money to train her at the university and he started saving before her results were out but the money he had saved was not enough to purchase the form talk more of paying the tuition fees. He rallied around but to no avail but then he remember he had only but one valuable possession given to him by his father before his death, and he thought to himself to put it up for sale to raise the required money. His father had handed him over the only land he had and forced him to make a promise to him that he will build his house on that land. He was fully persuaded in his spirit that she was what he wanted and that nothing was too much to give. He sold the land and raised enough money for her education.

He paid her tuition fee, rented an apartment for her, and saved the rest in the bank without eating from it in other to it use to pay for her tuition fee and rent every year till she graduated. After few months he could no longer pay for his rent and his landlord pushed him out of the house and he began to squat with a good friend but for the joy of his investments he was willing to despise the shame and endure the pains. He had made sure she did not lack anything in school, doing all kinds of manual labour to raise finance for her up keep.

After four years she graduated and came out with a first class in petrol chemical engineering. He was so fulfilled, his joy knows no bounds, he had been so proud of his investment. She went on to serve in an oil company and from there she was taking abroad on scholarship for her master’s and doctorate and they lost contact. Seven years went down and he had not heard from her, life became very frustrating, his friends laughed at him, he had no house to live, no property to fall back to, no bank account, and worst of all he had not gone to school and age was no longer on his side. For shame he could not return to his village because his kinsmen were against him when he wanted to sell the land.

He went on to the girl’s father’s house to check on them but could not find them at their usual house address. He was fed up with life and was contemplating with suicide, he took his last money went to a chemical dealers shop and bought a bottle of acid. He came back home where he was squatting, and no one was at home, he sat on the bed and took out the bottle of acid to drink and he heard a knock on the door.

Angrily he opened the door only to find her stand at the door, he could not believe who he was seeing as tears rolled down his eyes and she said the most encouraging words to him “I have not left you”. She took him into her Rolls Royce and drove down to his village, and showed him the mansion she had built for him on that land he sold to send her to school, she had also bought him a house at banana Island, a Rolls Rocye, and has set up a shipping company which he would head in line with her partners from China.

He could not believe how all these where possible and she told him that she had a lead that helped to do all these and who also monitored him while she was away working with an Oil company abroad. And she said to him “for all the shame, pains and suffering you went through because of me, I am here to wipe them off forever, without you I would never be who I am today”. They got married... End of Story.

25 FACTS ABOUT OBAMA

By   KelseyWarner   on March 4, 2016 Inside Gov As the final remaining year of the Obama administration is well underway, the legacy that President   Barack Obama   will forge in history remains hotly contested.   Conservatives argue   Obama is the “worst president ever” while   liberals have claimed   he has “done more good for this country than any president before him.” He likely will not play the role of a “lame-duck” president, as the administration has yet to slow down. Obama currently finds himself in the middle of a   heated standoff   with the Republican-led Senate to fill a Supreme Court vacancy. He still pursues a workable   plan to close GuantanamoBay , one of his 2008 campaign promises. As his term nears its end, the passionate, vocal opinions on both sides of the political aisle may reach their crescendo as his legacy becomes ripe for interpretation. When reflecting on Obama’s time in the White House, the f...

WAYS TO LOSE A JOB BEFORE YOU'RE INTERVIEWED

The internet is filled with all the things you have to do to get your job but no one ever talks about all the things you have to not do to get a job. So here are some important “don’ts” of job hunting. Don’t use one method of job hunting: Ok, we get that social media and online applications are the in-thing now but never forget or underestimate the power of plain ol’ physical applications submissions, recruiting agencies and “connect” referrals. Don’t do mass applications with the same CV: No really, do not do that. Don’t apply for every job (you really cannot do “anything”) and if you’re going to apply to a lot of jobs in your field, ensure each application is tailored to the job description and company. Don’t “play yourself”: As noted in point 1, social media is the in-thing right now and it can cost you major opportunities. Do not post anything you don’t want a prospective employer to see. If you do? Congratulations, you just played yourself *in D Khaled’s voice* ...
