WHEN YOUR PATIENCE RUNS OUT AND YOU STILL GOT TIME... (Part 3)

Sunday morning! He was sitting in church looking at the Sunday school superintendent summarizing the Sunday teaching but he was lost in thoughts. Flashes of diverse kinds of thought went through his mind as he was thinking deeply for a solution yet mesmerized in confusion. He thought to himself where could she be this morning, he had imagined her leaving the bedroom of a man or spending the weekend with her acclaimed lover.

He was sadly looking at the superintendent while he kept thinking about when he gets back to his neigbhourhood church, how he would meet her constant sit empty, how he would not see her backing him up as usual when he is leading prayers, how he would not bear seeing her in bar, or in a club, or dressed almost naked, he was so confused and lost in his thoughts. Pastor! Pastor!! Pastor!!! Then his senses came to him, “It’s time to take the offering” his colleague call out to him, he took the offering and sat down again lost in thoughts.

But she had made up her mind to keep coming to church for certain reasons but will live her life the way she pleases. She was so determined and looking deadly, never friendly like before and always keeping to herself. She was out for anyone who wants to speak to her about her new life style, she was angry with a lot of them who had gossiped her when she was out serving God with her heart.

After the service he chatted one of his spiritual sons back there in his neigbhourhood church on whatsApp and asked if she had come to church, and his reply gave him a face lift. She did come to church, she was at her usual position in the choir, she sang with the microphone but she had make-up almost like Jezebel.

His heart almost failed him on hearing that, he quickly browsed through her wall on facebook and behold he saw pictures of her congratulating her friend who just go engaged with the same attire and make-up his spiritual son had told him about. On seeing her make-up his faith dropped, he said to himself “can I bring her back to faith again for the second time seeing that I am now the problem”? She had hated him so much because he was mute to her for 4 months; she had called him a wicked guy who failed in all his promises to marry her. He told his spiritual son to keep an eye on her and report to him every activity she attends in church with her dress code.

Few hours later! He had just received a ping on whatsApp and it was a photo of how she dressed to church that same evening for a prayer service. She dressed so calm and homely and he was kind of happy, he thought to himself, may be this could just be a game, only for him the read the unimaginable after the photo.

His spiritual son had just wrote that she was about getting married to someone else who is not a member of the church and that she had gone to the extent of inviting him to one of the Sunday services. He asked how he knew about this and he told him a close friend of her in church confined on him. Like an earthquake his head vibrated and he lost control of himself, subbing and crying relentlessly.

Thoughts of the dream he had had one year ago flashed through his vibrating brains; he had seen in his dream when he came back and was looking for her because he had finally been released to marry her but she kept on holding unto a guy and was unwilling to go with him unless that guy follows; he also flashed back at the dream she saw back then when he was still with her in their childhood neigbhourhood church, she got married to another man but the wedding was not glorious and people in church were not happy with her choice of man.

Then it dawned on him that this could be the manifestation of those dreams, but they had both prayed seriously about it, they had also fasted and canceled it, he thought to himself why would all these be happening? Thoughts overwhelmed him as he kept wishing that all this was dream, he was so angry for giving up on their relationship when she wanted to let go, he hit himself so hard that he had bruises on his face, and then he looked up and cried hopelessly bitterly.

He knew very well in his heart that this guy coming to marry her was an unbeliever and an agent from the devil to derail her, he knew quite alright that the committee that was chairman by the coordinator would approve their marriage since they have succeeded in pushing him far away from her, he knew she could take deadly decisions and damn the consequences when she’s pressed to the wall.

He was helpless, everyone he had contacted to speak to her about her choices has refused for fear of been insulted. He had lost hope because he was becoming weak of winning this fight, he had the devil to contend with over her soul, he had the committee to face to defend her backslidden life style, he had the council of pastors to contend with over his choice of her, he had his coordinator also to contend with because they have the proof they needed against her, and he also had her to contend with to convince her to love him again. Confused, lost, hopeless, as his faith has began to fail him.
